1.  Today is Friday, October 19, 2018.  It is Day 4.

2.  Happy birthday to Armando, Mynae and Morgan!

3.  The Clarion Public Library is hosting two events.  The first is a family Halloween movie night on Monday, Oct. 22nd at 6:00pm.  On Wednesday, Oct. 31st they are hosting a kids Halloween party from 2:30pm – 3:30pm.  Please call the library for more information at 532-3673.

4.  Trick or Treat the Clarion Businesses on Saturday, October 27th from 9:30-11am. Start at the Clarion Depot to get your photo taken in First Citizens Bank’s photo booth! The first 150 kids will receive FREE Trick or Treat bags! Then, grab your goodies and scare the other downtown participating businesses!  The Clarion Theatre is showing FREE cartoons from 9:30am to 11:30am.

The Clarion Public Library and Crisis Intervention Services are hosting a Trunk or Treat on Saturday, Oct. 27th from 9:30am – 11:00am.  This will be held in the west parking lot at the public library.

Clarion Hometown Inn is also hosting their 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat on Saturday, Oct. 27th from 11:00am – 2:00pm directly following the Clarion Trick or Treat to Businesses.

5.  The CGD Middle School Peer Helpers present their 5K Glow Run and Walk on Friday, Oct. 26th.  Participants will start and finish at the CGD Football/track and the race route will remain on the northeast side of town.  The fun begins at 6:30pm – Pre-Race Activities (Zumba ad Drumstick fitness) and the race time begins at 8:00pm.  The event will be held rain or shine – in the event of rain, race and all activities will be moved into the CGD Elementary and Middle School.  Race cost is $5.00 for students, $10.00 for adults and $35.00 for families.  An obstacle course will be available for children in grades Preschool – 8th for an additional charge of $5.00 for unlimited play.  Make checks payable to CGD Schools.  Please mail forms and payment to CGDMS Peer Helpers; c/o Margaret Askelsen, 319 3rd Ave. NE, Clarion, IA  50525.

6.  Mobile Food Pantry of Iowa.  Any family can access the Mobile Food Pantry.

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Elementary Announcements

1.  Today is Monday, October 15, 2018.  It is Day 6.

2.  Happy birthday to Rodrigo and Mrs. Staples!

3.  The High School FFA will be sponsoring the Box Tops Store again this year.  The first Box Tops Store will take place on Tuesday, October 16th. Gather your box tops and some recycled paper and attach 25 box tops per page and hand into the office.  (Grades Preschool-3rd grade will have an opportunity to travel to the box top store and 4th and 5th grade will hand into their teachers.)  The FFA members will be processing these box tops that are each worth 10 cents and the proceeds go to the CGD elementary to help out with field trip expenses.  

4.  Preschool Parent Night will be held on Monday, October 15th from 5:30pm – 7:15pm.  All preschoolers and their parents are invited to attend We’re Going On a Bear Hunt!  All 3 year-old preschoolers on scholarship must attend to continue receiving his/her scholarship.  The Bear Hunt activities include:  reading, counting, mask craft, maps, obstacle course, sensory activities, puppet craft, bear walk activity and Positive Solutions for Parents.
