1.  Today is Friday, May 31, 2019.  It is Day 6.  Today is the last day of school!  The 3rd – 5th grade track meet will begin at approximately at 1:45pm – note change of time. We will dismiss at 3:20pm

2.  Happy birthday to Johana, Judy and Blaine!  Celebrating Aug. 9th is Ava and Renesme; Aug. 10th – Konnor; Aug. 11th – Tristan; Aug. 13th – Kaetin and Mr. Simmons; Aug. 14th – Rebecca, Tristan, Jake and Ximena; Aug. 16th – Christopher; Aug. 17th – Natalie and Fernanda; Aug. 18th – William; Aug. 19th – Tucker, Nahomy and Jade; Aug. 20th – Emma and Aug. 21st – Blake and Miss Warner!

3.  Parents – Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) requires states to report the percent of parents with a child receiving special education services who report that schools facilitated parent involvement as a means of improving services and results for children with IEPs.  The Iowa Department of Education is gathering this data as a census for both students with and without and IEP using a brief survey.  The survey link is https://surveymonkey.com/r/2019AEA8   The survey has 4 easy questions and the timeline will be open until June 30th.

4.  The Clarion Public Library will be showing Lego Movie 2 at the Library on Monday June 3rd at 5:30pm. Popcorn and drink will be provided. 

5. Summer lunch in Clarion starts up again soon!  We will be serving lunch from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm daily, Monday through Friday, starting June 10th and ending on August 2nd.  No lunch will be served July 4th.  Summer lunch is free to anyone 18 years of age and under.  Adults may purchase a meal for $3.65.  The main hot meal will be served at the high school.  Clarion Aquatic Center and Dows Swimming Pool will provide a sack lunch daily along with one hot meal per week.

El almuerzo de verano en Clarion comienza de nuevo pronto! Estaremos sirviendo el almuerzo de 11:30 a.m. a 12:30 p.m. de lunes a viernes, comenzando el 10 de junio y finalizando el 2 de agosto. No se servirá almuerzo el 4 de julio. El almuerzo de verano es gratis para todas las personas de 18 años o menos. Los adultos pueden comprar una comida por $3.65. La comida caliente principal será servida en la escuela secundaria. Centro Aquatico de Clarion y la Piscina de Dows proporcionarán un almuerzo en bolsa diario con una comida caliente por semana.

June 12th – Life is Fair – learn about prepping about the process of Static Exhibit Judging – for students who have completed 4th – 8th grades.

June 19th – Birds, Bugs and Bees! – learn about hands-on activities for our native friends – for students who have completed Kindergarten – 3rd grades.

June 26th – Great Cake Off – mastering baking basics – for students who have completed 4th – 8th grades.

July 12th – Wright County Fair Fun – come and go activity stations in the exhibit building – fun for all ages and no registration required.

July 17th – 3,2,1 to Fun! – celebrate New Year’s in July – for students who have completed Kindergarten – 3rd grades.

July 22nd – Robots and Rockets – program and code robots to design and prep rockets for blast off – for students who have completed 4th – 6th grades.

July 31st – Robots and Rockets – program and code robots to design and prep rockets for blast off – for students who have competed Kindergarten – 3rd grades.
