  • Driver’s Ed. class tomorrow Saturday, April 10th. Second payment was due March 19th.

 

  • Practice for cheerleading tryouts will be April 19th - 23rd. Tryouts will be April 27th at your assigned time.Practice for cheerleading tryouts will be April 19th (3:45pm in the High School wrestling room), 20th (5:15 in the High School gym), 21st (3:45pm in the gym), 22nd (5:15pm in the gym) and 23rd (3:45pm in the wrestling room). There is a sign-up sheet in the office.

 

  • Prom-Out-of-Town/Out-of-School Date: If you have an out-of-town/out-of-school date for prom you need to get a form from the office and fill it out. The forms need to be returned NO later than April 20, 2021

     

  • If interested in eating at Grounded prior to Prom please sign up in the office.  Steak or Chicken is being offered.  There are specific times for you to choose from.

     

  • The CGD After Prom Committee has had to come up with new ways to raise funds this year, and thought it would be a great idea to have an option to donate virtually.   • The Clarion Rotary Club would like to sponsor one CGD Sophomore or Junior to attend the RYLA Leadership Conference July 18-23 at Coe College in Cedar Rapids.  Generally, the applicants who are selected have excelled in one or more areas of high school involvement and have proven leadership experience or have shown leadership potential. The entire focus of RYLA is to provide foundational leadership skills for teenagers.  The link below has more details about the conference and is where the applicant must apply.  Registration closes on April 30, 2021.

  • A rep from Iowa Central will be here April 12 @ 10:00 to visit with interested students. This visit is not for students who have already enrolled into ICCC for next fall.

     

  • Attention to all incoming Seniors for 2021-2022: RE: Iowa Meningitis vaccination requirement. Students entering 12th grade and born after September 15th, 1999, will need proof of two doses of the vaccine, or one dose if the shot was after the student turned 16. Proof of the vaccination (or medical/religious exemption) is a requirement before the first day of your Senior year.  When going in for your next appointment or yearly/sports physical between now and next August, please ask them to review your immunization record with you to be certain you are up to date. Thank you students for entering and creating amazing works of art. I am very excited for the show this year. I wish I could submit more than 15 works! I will share the link to the full NCC art show at a later date. If you were not selected this year please do not be discouraged from entering artwork next year. We have many seniors who have been working diligently for four years in the art program and they will be graduating this year. Everyone's work is phenomenal and I am so proud of all of you.

    Band and Chorus

    The High School Band Solo Festival is today, March 29th, from 5-7pm.  The solo performances will be held at CGD High School in the Band & Choir Rooms.  The band students have worked hard to prepare their music and will be performing that evening.  Parents and family are encouraged to attend!
